FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have questions about starting therapy?

Below are answers to the most common questions clients ask when starting therapy.

  • All sessions at Seaside are conducted through Grow Therapy which is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy platform. This allows you to connect with a therapist from the comfort and privacy of your home.

  • Many insurance plans offer benefits that cover therapy, making it easier to get the support that you deserve.

  • At Seaside, Gail Gerbig is IN NETWORK with 30+ insurance providers including: Aetna, Ambetter, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Florida Blue, Cigna, Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, Optum, and United Healthcare.

  • Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which allow you to submit a claim for a portion of the cost. I can provide a superbill to assist with your reimbursement.

  • Yes! For those who prefer not to use insurance, I offer therapy services at $175 per session.

  • Our first session at Seaside is designed to be a collaborative introduction to your journey towards emotional wellness.

We’ll take some time to connect on what brought you here, what you’re hoping to achieve, and what challenges you’ve been facing. Together, we’ll discuss your goals, explore a few helpful strategies, and start mapping out your next steps.

By the end of our session, you’ll have:

A clearer understanding of how we’ll work together

A safe, supportive space to begin processing what’s been weighing on you

A few small, steady steps to help you move forward with confidence

  • At Seaside, I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Mind-Body, and Integrative Therapy.

Healing is a personal journey. I tailor each therapy session to fit your needs and preferences.

  • At this time, I work primarily with individual adults. If you're seeking therapy for couples or families, I’m happy to refer you to one of Seaside’s preferred providers.

  • At Seaside Mental Wellness, I support women who are navigating the emotional toll of doing all the things—but still feeling anxious, stuck, or like they’ve lost touch with themselves.

Seaside is a safe and supportive space for those who are:

Experiencing anxiety, emotional burnout, or chronic stress that feels hard to explain—but even harder to carry

Going through a life transition such as a breakup, job change, health issue, relocation, or change in family dynamics

Seeking more clarity, confidence, or connection in their day-to-day life

Working on setting boundaries, learning how to show up more fully for themselves, and creating a sustainable self-care routine

Moving through grief, caregiving responsibilities, or aging-related challenges

Feeling emotionally overloaded by the invisible labor of caregiving, relationships, or trying to keep everything running smoothly

  • Therapy at Seaside is a supportive space for women ready to reflect, grow, and reconnect with themselves in the midst of life’s emotional challenges.

While I welcome a wide range of concerns, there are some situations that may require a different type of care or support.

Seaside may NOT be the right fit if:

You’re in need of specialized trauma treatment, EMDR, or intensive therapy for PTSD

You’re currently in crisis, experiencing active suicidal ideation, or require emergency mental health support

You’re managing severe depression or complex mood disorder, such as Bipolar Disorder, that significantly interferes with daily functioning

You’re seeking couples counseling, family therapy, or therapy for children or teens

Because I work exclusively online with clients across the state of Florida, local crisis resources and in-person care options may be limited—especially for those outside the Tampa Bay area.

In those cases, I want to ensure you’re connected with a provider who can offer the level of care you truly need and deserve.

  • Sessions will likely last around 45-53 minutes and are typically scheduled weekly or on a bi-weekly basis.

  • At Seaside, therapy sessions are available throughout the week starting as early as 7am and as late as 5pm. If you have a preferred day and time that works best with your schedule, I recommend booking 1-2 sessions in advance to ensure that it will be available for you.

  • Yes! Please fill out the inquiry form on the “Connect” page to setup a 15 minute consultation.

  • Ready to Dive In?

You can schedule your initial appointment directly through any of the “Schedule Your Appointment” links on the Seaside website.

From there, you’ll be directed to the Grow Therapy platform.

  • If you need to reschedule or cancel, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid any cancellation fees. My goal is to make sure you get the support you need, and I’m happy to work with you to find another time that fits your schedule.

  • If you’re in crisis or need immediate support, I encourage you to contact the crisis hotline (988) or 1-800-273-8255. You can also go to the nearest emergency room.
